GOLDSWORTH PARK LAKE

Goldsworth Park Lake, the home of Woking Model Yacht Club, is 3 miles from the M25 motorway and in a central position within the Model Yacht Association Met & Southern District.

The lake is a water balancing reservior, owned and operated by Thames Water plc. Rainfall from the roads in the surrounding area comes into the lake through the rainwater drainage system. The depth of water is maintained by controlling its outflow into local streams.

A 3-minute walk along a tarmac path from the free carpark takes you to the sailing Control Area, which is a raised grassy bank, providing an excellent view out over the course. There are steps down to the jetty, so launching your boat is very easy. The bank is South facing and sheltered from the North and East winds by trees and bushes. Bring sun spec’s and sun cream!

Private maintained male and female toilets are beside the car park and there are 2 cafes, both within easy walking distance around the lake.

Security at the lake is maintained by a dedicated Surrey Police officer and the atmosphere at the lake is best described as ‘Family-Community-Recreation’.
