WOKING MODEL YACHT CLUB sails on Goldsworth Park Lake. The Club is licensed and supported by Thames Water and Woking Borough Council.
Goldsworth Park Lake is a significant Model Yacht Centre. The 17 acre lake is 4 metres deep, weed free and unaffected by drought.The raised Control Area provides an excellent view over the course and there are steps down to the jetty, which makes launching your boat very easy. The site has good shore facilities and there is ample car parking space.
The Club’s main classes are the IOM (International One Metre), Marblehead and Micro Magic. The IOM is our most popular class, but we have a growing number of Micro Magic’s, which are comparatively inexpensive and so ideal for getting started in model yachting.
All MYA Classes, current MYA members, scale yacht sailors and any newcomers to the sport are most welcome, so please come and join us and enjoy this exciting facility.
We meet on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and our sailing programme is updated regularly. If you are not a Club member and you are thinking about bringing a yacht to the Lake or just coming to watch, please give one of us a call beforehand.
