GOLDSWORTH PARK LAKE

Goldsworth Park Lake, the home of Woking Model Yacht Club, is 3 miles from the M25 motorway and in a central position within the Model Yacht Association Met. & Southern District.

The lake is a water-balancing reservoir, owned and operated by Thames Water plc.   Rainfall from the roads in the surrounding area comes into the lake through the rainwater drainage system.   The depth of water is maintained at a constant level by controlling its outflow into local streams, and the rate of water flow through the lake is sufficient to keep it weed-free.

A 3-minute walk along a tarmac path from the free car park takes you to the sailing Control Area, which is a raised, grassy bank, providing an excellent view out over the course.    There are steps down to the water's edge, so launching your boat is very easy.

Private maintained male and female toilets are beside the car park, and there are 2 cafes, both within easy walking distance around the lake.

Security around the lake is maintained by a dedicated Surrey police officer, and the atmosphere at the lake is best described as 'Family - Community - Recreation'.
