Overcast, dull, a brisk north-westerly wind to keep the temperature down, and the threat of rain - it was more like the end of November rather than the beginning of September!
However, despite the gloomy forecast, the rain stayed away and we had an extremely good day's racing.
A total of sixteen races were sailed, eight before lunch and another eight afterwards, and this allowed the skippers to have three discards.
The event had been advertised in the local press, and quite a number of people who had no idea what model yacht
racing was all about decided to come along and watch from various points around the lake.
All the races were extremely competitive, with a number of closely-fought contests taking place up and down the fleet, so it was yacht racing at its very best.
It was obvious from the many favourable comments we received that the whole event was enjoyed just as much by the spectators as it was by the competitors.
So ..... it was yet another successful day for the Club!
